Five races specifically for junior swimmers who did not qualify for the senior finals took place tonight, headlined by the British junior record by Duncan Scott in the 200 free with a 1:49.88. Scott beat the 1:50.20 posted by James Guy in 2012 to break the age group mark for 16-year-olds. Adam Taylor won the men's 50 fly with a 24.62, while Oliver Jermy took the men's 400 IM with a 4:34.12.

Duncan Scott of Grangemouth ASC was competing as F.I.R.S.T at the Commonwealth Games trials 3-6th-GB" April 2014 at Tollcross International in Glasgow.
Duncan’s first event was the 100m Freestyle. The heats on the Friday morning saw him comfortably through to the final that night breaking his entry time. The sixteen year old swam an incredible race. He was seeded sixteenth and finished 6th overall breaking the British 16 year old age group record in 50.86. He is now ranked in the UK top 12.

STRATHALLAN swimmer Duncan Scott came up just short of qualifying for the Commonwealth Games at the first attempt with a stunning personal display at the Commonwealth Games trials at Tollcross International in Glasgow last weekend.
Duncan’s first event was the 100m Freestyle. The heats on the Friday morning saw him comfortably through to the final that night breaking his entry time.
The sixteen year old swam an incredible race. He was seeded sixteenth and finished 6th overall breaking the British 16 year old age group record in 50.86. He is now ranked in the UK top 12.
Scott along with his coaches Steven Tigg (FIRST) and Elaine Johnston (Strathallan) decided not to swim on the Friday night as the weekend was going to be hard work.
Duncan Scott has just been awarded Junior Sports Personality of the Year by Clackmannanshire Council.
He has had an outstanding year and at the end of 2013 was ranked number 1 15-16 year old in Europe.
He competed for Team GB in the European Youth Olympics and won 4 medals (1/4 of the swimming medals) Gold in the 200IM and silver in the 400IM he had a silver and bronze from the relays too.

Duncan Scott was on the move again. The Grangemouth ASC swimmer travelled to Sheffield with teammates from FIRST (Falkirk Integrated Regional Swim Team) to compete at the Derventio Excel meet.
