Duncan finished his last exam for the year at Stirling University and set off to London to join Team GB at the European Championships in London.
Day 1
16th May - Heat
Duncan swam the last leg in the 4 x 100 freestyle relay with the fastest time of 48.78
Finals
Duncan was the second swimmer for the team taling over from Robbie Renwick and handing to Ieuan Lloyd with Ben Proud finishing. Duncan bettered his morning time to 48.31 and was again the fastest of the 4
Day 2
17th May - Heats
His first race was the 200 Free. He swam in the second last heat with a time of 1.49.77. He was pulled from the 200IM. Duncan then swam the final leg, freestyle in the 4 x 100 mixed relay. He swam 48.87 and the team finished fastest for pole position for the evening race.
Day 3
18th May - Heats and Finals off
Day 4
19th May - Heats
Duncan was seeded in the second last heat and secured a semi - final slot with 49.36
Finals
Duncan improved his morning swim with a 49.11. He was the youngest swimmer in the semi finals
Day 5
20th May - Heats and Finals off
Day 6
21st May - Heats
4 x 200 Freestyle relay Milne, Lloyd, Wallace then Duncan who swam a stunning 1.47.52 as the fastest in the tea. They finished with 7.14.34.
Finals
The finals had Renwick lead, then James Guy, Stephen Milne with Duncan finishing. They finished 5th. Duncan’s 1.47.80 was second to Jimmys’s 1.45.64. An incredible time for the point in the season.
Day 7
22nd May - Heats
In the morning heats Duncan swam 100 Fly in 53.26 for the Medley Relay.
Finals
Walker Hebborn on Backstroke led the way. The led was improved by World, European and Commonwealth Champion Adam Peatty. James Guy on Fly with Duncan the freestyler. All good. They won convincingly.
