Bo’ness ASC Swimmers at District Competition
Two Bo’ness ASC swimmers braved the early morning cold to get to Cumbernauld for the first district meet of year. Bo’ness swims within West District, one of four districts within Scotland. The District holds regular competitions throughout the year with 22 clubs competing and gaining points for their club if placed within the top six. A swimmer must achieve a certain time in order to qualify for district competition. This meet was for the 10-14 age group.
13 year old Duncan Scott had 6 PBs on his entry times. He finished second in the 200 Butterfly, 400 IM, and 100 Butterfly. He gained further points for the club with a bronze in the 100 Fly, 5th in the 400 Freestyle and 6th in the 200 Freestyle.
Duncan is a member of Scottish Swimming’s Silver Squad. He has recently been invited to join a Butterfly stroke camp with Scottish Swimming coach Doug Campbell in April. at the National Swimming Academy in Stirling.
