Delighted to announce that Duncan Scott was selected for Team GB’s swimming team for Rio De Janeiro. Duncan is one of eight Scottish swimmers in the team, all trained in Scotland except Dan Wallace. Duncan will be joined in Rio with team mates Robbie Renwick, Craig Benson and Ross Murdoch.

200 Free Day 6 17/4/16

Duncan appeared for the final heat on the Sunday morning. He was racing in the lane next to world champion James Guy. Unintimidated by the champion he kept him in his sights and finished in top place having the pole position for the finals. Duncan’s win was a surprise for the spectators. His time was a PB and a new British age group record.

He returned for the final race of the completion with fellow scots from the Scottish 4 x 200 Commonwealth silver medal team, Milne, Renwick and Wallace. Stunning race with all to race for. The Rio team world be picked from this line up. Duncan finished 4th behind Guy. Milne and Renwick.

Duncan Scott travelled to Glasgow for the Scottish National Age Groups (SNAG’s) on the 2nd of April

Duncan made the final and swam the UK’s fastest longest 200IM long course time this year with a personal best of 2.01.16.

Duncan travelled to Edinburgh with Stirling University swim team to compete at the Commie pool the same weekend at the France Scotland Rugby. Edinburgh had a European feel to it and the pool had too. An incredible array of world class swimmers competed in a pre - British Rio trials completion.

Day 1 Duncan tested himself in the 100 free safely through to the finals. He improved his morning heats time to take silver. As at the end of the completion he was ranked 3rd in GB.

Duncan flew out to Bangor, Northern Ireland on Thursday 3rd March to compete 4-6th. He originally was entered for 7 races. Day 1: He swam 200 Fly in 2.00.75 finishing 3rd in the A final, 100 Breast in 1.06.64 to finish 1st in the B final. Day 2: gold in the A final 200 Free with 1.49.77 And on Day 3: another A final gold in the 200IM with a 2.02.33.

A busy month competitions in Edinburgh and Copenhagen. Duncan took the 200IM title. He rested from a variety of swims knowing he had the Europeans a few days later. When you aren’t 100%, you know it. Duncan is an ambassador for Scottish water and regularly appears at swimming pools to encourage children to swim. He appeared in the Scottish parliament to speak re the learn to swim programmes. We must not forget BUCs ( British Universities Short Course Competition) in Sheffield.

Announcement by British Swimming of those athletes to gain lottery funding for 2017/18. Duncan has again been fortunate to secure lottery funding. Duncan spent some of October in Flagstaff before returning to the UK. Team GB for European Short Course announced.

Award season The night of the 21/9/17 Duncan was through in Edinburgh to the EICC for the Team Scotland awards. We were delighted that sister Alexandria accompanied him.He was up against tough completion with Andy Murray, Calum Hawkins and Josh Taylor but the swimmer won the Male athlete of the year. Worlds Budapest Duncan swam at the British Championships in Sheffield in April and secured a place in the British team by swimming a new British record in the 100 Freestyle. His time had him ranked fastest in the world in 2017. (47.90) Duncan had a busy week starting on Monday 24th with the 200 Freestyle heats and semis in the evening. Duncan competed at the British Championships in Sheffield Whilst most swimmers were in the water, Duncan was signing autographs for swimming fans. The following day he started with 200 Fly – great PB and a bronze podium position 1.57.50 The following evening was the 100 freestyle, the event he was fifth in at the Rio Olympics. Speedo signs Duncan Scott who is delighted to have gained their support. Its early in the season and Duncan is lying 3rd in the world for the 200 Free and 6th in the world for the 100 Free, 7th in the 200IM.
