Duncan returned to Edinburgh for the premier short course event, having missed it in 2014, due to an invitational camp in Japan. He had a fab meet breaking 2 Scottish Open records and 7 Age group short course records.
Friday he progressed well to the finals where he broke 2 age group records. The 400 Freestyle record was held by his Stirling University team mate since 2007. Duncan pushed winner Stephen Milne to a new Scottish record and took silver with a new age group record. Out of the pool for a few minutes before getting back in the pool for the 200 Back, he knocked 3 seconds off the record and secured the silver.
Saturday 12/12/15 he swam a sound 200IM and sneaked the silver from teammate Cameron Brodie. His time of 1.55.92 was a new Scottish open record, for a few hours until Dan Wallace broke it at Dual in the Pool. He also swam in the 200 Fly, also against Cameron Brodie. He won bronze and another age group Scottish record.
Sunday was tough. 400IM. Stirling University took Gold Silver and Bronze. Duncan s silver was yet another Scottish age group record. When Duncan competed in the 200 Free he yet again improved his Scottish age group record. The finale of the competition was Stirling having 2 teams for the 4 x 100. Team Duncan raced against Team Robbie Renwick. Duncan’s speed secured the Scottish record again. Robbie had raced for that one the day before. Who will hold it next month? Duncan’s new time puts him in the top 3 UK short course swimmers of all time. Many of his times this weekend are world top twenty.
Double delight for Renwick - Scotsman
